FRANCHIZE CARES is a non-profit foundation dedicated to the development of life management skills for building strong fundamental values for all athletes as well as coaches through mentoring via athletic training, next level skill development, and educational information. FRANCHIZE CARES mission is to provide the financial resources for educational tools, athletic equipment, team travel and use of athletic facilities which enhances academic progression, athletic skill development and social growth. FRANCHIZE CARES will achieve this by providing individual and small group academic tracking year-round, experienced coaching on and off the court to prepare our student-athletes for athletic scholarships at Division I, II, Division III, Junior and NAIA colleges. The creation of FRANCHIZE CARES is designed to educate the 'whole' student-athlete with detailed monitoring, instruction and instilling a social consciousness through basketball that are unmatched in Texas. By concentrating on perfecting the methods necessary for partnering with existing sport organizations in one specific sport initially, FRANCHIZE CARES feels that further growth in other sports will be accomplished more efficiently than the alternative path of undertaking athletic development programs in multiple sports simultaneously. FRANCHIZE provides a forum were the student will understand the process of their academic and social development. FRANCHIZE requires that all student athletes must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA to participate in our influential program. We provide study groups, and additional tutoring. Communicating with our students, parents and guidance counselor allows us to effectively observe the progress of each individual. We will monitor grades, provide TAKS tutoring, and SAT/ACT Prep year-round. This ensures the adequate balance between their academic and athletic future. Additionally, FRANCHIZE is proud of our Prep School Placement Program, which will identify gifted student athletes who are interested in attending preparatory schools that will accelerate the high school academic or athletic opportunities. If required, the preparatory schools are prepared to provide FRANCHIZE student-athletes with full or partial scholarships after gaining admission. FRANCHIZE CARES vision is to become the largest and most comprehensive, in-season and off-season student-athlete resource in the nation. To provide the answers to "what sports can provide to the individual athlete?" rather than "what the athlete can provide to the sport?" Distribution of usable information in the form of player and coaches handbooks, informative literature, video analysis and instruction with the goal of increasing the odds that a FRANCHIZE athlete will be accepted into a college and qualify for either partial or full scholarship funding. |
